In 2023, Alternus Energy and NCAD continued their Sustainability Arts Initiative, challenging designers to repurpose recycled and damaged solar panels through a competition inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions. My work explored the theme of violence against women.

Titled Unpredictable People, the piece features two overlapping illustrations that depict contrasting scenarios at different times of the day, highlighting how quickly a person's intentions can shift. By projecting red or blue light onto the artwork, one illustration is revealed while the other fades, creating a dynamic, interactive experience. Embedded within the illustrations are statistics and quotations drawn from interviews addressing violence against women.

Selected as one of just three winners from 40 participating designers, the project was a particularly meaningful achievement. Through the interplay of light, illustration and research, Unpredictable People aims to communicate the pervasive sense of unease that violence against women can create, regardless of one's surroundings.
